New Funding Success for COVID-19 Project
Posted 15/06/2020

The REW DT has been successful in securing £16,872.00 from the SCVO Well-Being Fund, The Hunters Foundation for continuing and expanding our COVID-19 project.
This means that we can now extend our support for the island shop and essential food deliveries, the mid-week healthy meals via the Triangle Club & The Taversoe, cover the costs for Code Orkney Club for the 3d printers and materials they are providing to make valuable PPE for us and NHS staff  & Key Workers and cover the delivery costs of the take-away meals provided by The Taversoe, ensuring that all residents have access to a hot meal each week.

In additional we are working with the University of the Highlands and Islands who, as they will not be here as part of the annual Skaill Farm digs, will be providing interactive on-line talks and activities very soon.  Watch this space for more information on this.

A huge thank you to the Rousay Sewing Ladies and all of our partners and friends who are helping us with this project.  Stay Safe and let us know if we can help you with anything.

Connecting Scotland Scheme
Posted 09/06/2020

This programme is open to people who are most affected by the Coronavirus pandemic i.e. those on the shielded list or those in group 2 (those who are clinically vulnerable/ eligible for the flu jab).

Through this scheme, those who do not have access to the internet and are eligible, are gifted a device and initial connectivity. This is an effort to help those who do not have the existing means to keep in touch with family and friends remotely and possible access services to help and support them during this time.

If you think you are eligible please contact Kerry Spence at OIC 01856 873535 ext. 2425.
