The final version of the survey can be downloaded here for Adults, for Primary School children here and for Secondary School age here. The first survey question was 'What would you especially like the trust to do for you?', the answers received have been collated as a 'Mind Map' and can be viewed here. Hard copies will be placed around the three islands for people to read too.
The directors will use the report to improve services where possible and start projects linked to the report findings. There will be more updates on the DT's progress here and in future Reviews but we would like to hear from any individual or group regarding your ideas on how we can best serve our community and move forward the survey's findings.

Project Officer Vacancy£22,750 salary per annum; 35 hours per week
Initially a fixed term contract until 31st March 2021,
with potential for extension.
An exciting position has arisen for a Project Officer to join our team, on an initial fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension.
This is a varied role, for which the successful candidate will:
- be responsible for the delivery of the Trumland land purchase and sub-projects associated with our Scottish Land Fund grant, co-ordinating the administrative and practical delivery of this project;
- work with our Project Manager on the successful delivery of the Rural Housing Fund project;
- work with our Project Manager to deliver our current and future projects, which currently include the development of a community space, and high-speed broadband;
- assist our Project Manager with our grants distribution system, which includes various funding pots that have been created to distribute funds to individuals and groups within our community, in line with our Charitable Aims.
The duties will require excellent administration and communication skills and the successful applicant must be able to use Microsoft Office applications and perform day-to-day office duties as required.
Applicants should be able to work as part of a team, have experience of communicating effectively with people at all levels, and be keen to be involved in community development. The successful applicant will be polite, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, able to work without supervision, able to make decisions, and must support the aims of the Development Trust.
Appropriate training will be provided. The successful applicant may be subject to Protecting Vulnerable Groups checks.
The successful applicant will be expected to work from the Trust’s Offices at the Manse, Rousay and be required to travel around the Trumland Estate. Travelling within and, possibly from time to time, outside Orkney for possible training and meetings for which travel and subsistence costs will be met at HMRC approved rates.
